Multimodal pain therapy has been used at the Sportklinik Hellersen - your pain clinic in North Rhine-Westphalia - for many years. Multimodal pain therapy is a tried and tested method to prevent pain from becoming chronic or to reduce pain.
Pain patients are treated for either nine or 16 days in the pain clinic by various doctors and specialist departments. The interdisciplinary treatment team, led by the pain specialist, includes orthopaedists, neurosurgeons, neurologists and pain psychologists. In addition, a large team of physiotherapists, sports medicine specialists and art and music therapists are also involved. An individual therapy plan is drawn up together with you and adapted to your needs.
Out of the pain trap
Multimodal pain therapy is often combined with catheter pain therapy or injection treatments. The aim of the therapy is always to achieve a better quality of life, improved mobility and, above all, pain relief. The psyche of pain patients is often impaired by a long history of suffering and has led to a withdrawal from social life and inactivity. Our aim is to work with the patient to find a way out of this vicious circle - the pain trap. With the help of the pain psychologists, we work on changing behavior in everyday life or find explanations for sometimes counterproductive behavior and show new ways.
A prerequisite for the success of the therapy is always that the patient is willing to cooperate and is open to changes in their life situation. A realistic therapy goal should also be set at the beginning of the therapy.
