The current Medical Device Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV) requires in §6 that every healthcare facility with more than 20 employees on a regular basis must ensure that a competent and reliable person with medical, scientific, nursing, pharmaceutical or technical training is appointed as the Medical Device Safety Officer.
This applies as of 01.01.2017 without a transition period.
In our clinic, Mr. Olaf Saager has been appointed with the task as "Medical Device Safety Officer".
